Zamdela police are seeking public’s assistance in tracing the suspects involved in a murder case that occurred in the Mooidraai Informal Settlement, Zamdela.
On Saturday, 28 February 2026, at approximately 20:21, police members received a complaint of a shooting at Mooidraai Informal Settlement. Upon arrival at the scene, members were pointed to the lifeless body of an African male, identified as Mr. Tebello Motsoani(62), lying on the ground with four gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The deceased’s wife alleged that earlier that day at approximately 19:45, she was with her husband and family having a braai when two unknown males approached their fence seeking assistance, alleging that their vehicle had problems, and the deceased refused to assist, after which they left.
After some time, the two suspects returned to request a towing rope, and as the deceased approached the two suspects, they started shooting at him and fled the scene on foot.
