The Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport has today the 26th October officially opened the 35 kilometre stretch of the R57 between Sasolburg and Heilbron, at the Heilbron Town Hall.
The department said the road represents an investment of more than R448 million by the Free State Provincial Government, including 8km of auxiliary lanes that strengthens an important economic corridor linking the Free State with Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
The occasion indulged in the presence of SANTACO, the Regional Taxi Association, the Town Manger of Heilbron, project participants and the community of Heilbron.
