It was no ordinary worship service for several elderly people from Thaba Nchu in the Free State this Sunday as they left church all smiles and covered in warmth. This was after Ebenhezer Family Church presented them with blankets to help them stay warm during this chilly season.
The donation of blankets was done during a special church service, which was held at Strydom Secondary School hall in Thaba Nchu in the Mangaung Metro.
It was a Special Sunday Service filled with shouts of joy, singing, dancing, gyrating and praying as the congregation celebrated in the presence of the Lord. For the elderly people it was a moment never to forget. They felt loved and endeared by the congregation.
According to Ebenhezer Family Church’s Founder and Presiding Pastor, Dr Gino Alberts, blankets were donated to 30 elderly people who were from the church’s neighbourhood and other parts of Thaba Nchu.
“This is one of the many social programmes that the church is embarking on annually. These programmes include, among others, school shoes for the needy learners and food parcels for indigent families in the area,” he said.
The preacher for the special service was Pastor Mojalefa Moloi from Vanderbijlpark in the Vaal in the Gauteng Province.
