Motjeane leads SMM’s push for Metsimaholo takeover

The Service Movement for Metsimaholo has introduced its Ward Councilor Candidates as it continue with its preparations for the November 2026 Local Government Elections.

Amongst its Candidates is Selloane Motjeane, a former Councilor at the Metsimaholo Local Municipality, with vast knowledge in the politics of Metsimaholo, Fezile Dabi District and the Free State. Motjeane rose politically through the ranks of the African National Congress Youth League, and was part of the Economic Freedom Fighters leadership serving various roles leading to her elected as a Mayor at a coalition run Metsimaholo municipality, before her then party declined the position.

Introducing its Candidates, SMM said the team comprises of men and women who have stepped forward to serve their communities as SMM Ward Councillor Candidates across Metsimaholo for all 23 Wards.

“Our candidates come from the very communities they seek to represent. They understand the everyday challenges because they live them too. From service delivery and safer neighbourhoods to cleaner communities, local economic opportunities and accountable leadership, our focus remains clear” said SMM.
