The Economic Freedom Fighters Mayoral Candidate in the Metsimaholo Local Municipality, Malefane Bosanku Msimanga, says the EFF will once again table a motion calling for the cancellation of irrecoverable municipal debts in Metsimaholo Local Municipality.
Msimanga says the proposed debt cancellation is not intended to benefit EFF members alone, but the entire Metsimaholo community, including residents who have accumulated unaffordable municipal arrears.
According to Msimanga, reducing or writing off debts that the municipality has little prospect of recovering could ultimately strengthen revenue collection by giving residents a renewed opportunity to pay their current municipal accounts.
