Local farmers in Refengkgotso Deneysville, within the Metsimaholo Local Municipality are counting the costs after losing multiple Livestock due to the severe bad weather conditions.
The Refengkgotso Residents Civil Society is leading a call for help, and has indicated local farmers has lost around 42 livestiock died as a result of these windy and wet cold conditions. The Chairperson of the Civil Society Ranky khanya, said they call on the Free State Department of Agriculture to urgently deploy officials to assess damages, provide disaster relief, feed, and support for carcass disposal.
“We aslo call the Metsimaholo Municipality to assist with disaster management support, and the public and stakeholders to stand with Refengkgotso farmers during this difficult ” said Khanya.
