The Damlaagte Solar PV Facility, was officially inaugurated on the 27th October 2025, the third renewable energy project, now delivering 97.5 MW of clean electricity to support Sasol’s operations.
Developed in partnership with Air Liquide and Mainstream Renewable Power, Damlaagte marks a major milestone in South Africa’s energy transition and our shared journey toward a lower-carbon future.

Located near Parys in the Free State, the facility will generate approximately 270 million kWh of renewable electricity each year, while creating nearly 2,000 local job opportunities and supporting skills development and enterprise growth in surrounding communities.

With Damlaagte now online, Sasol said it continues to advance its goal of securing 2 GW of renewable energy by 2030 – strengthening energy security and driving industrial decarbonisation in South Africa.
