The Fezile Dabi District Commissioner, Major General Makubo, has commended and acknowledged four constables attached to the Fezile Dabi District TRIO Task Team for their outstanding bravery and dedication to duty.
This recognition emanates from an incident that occurred on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, when the four members, who were off duty at the time, were travelling in their private vehicle and came across a bakkie that had been involved in an incident where two police officers were overpowered at the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court.
Upon spotting the stolen vehicle, the suspects opened fire on the off-duty members. The members retaliated, and during the exchange of gunfire, one suspect was fatally wounded while the second suspect was rearrested. The members’ vehicle was damaged during the incident.
In appreciation of their courage and swift action, the Station Commanders and the District Commissioner presented the members with a token of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude for their bravery.
