Rising Zamdela Artist Forcing His Way Into the Airways

By Puisano News Reporter

Rising Afropop artist from Zamdela Sasolburg, is steadily forcing his way into the national airways capturing hearts across Mzansi, with his hit single ‘’Language of Love”.

Conny Mokatsanyane better known as ‘Kazy’ released his hit track last year in June, produced by Andries Leotlela. The single has already earned him multiple nominations, including Best Afropop Artist at the Mzansi Art and Media Awards, Youth SA Awards, and Artist Scout SA Awards.

Kazy’s music is a vibrant blend of Afro and dance rhythms, infused with heartfelt storytelling and his distinct, velvety voice. The track carries an uplifting energy that resonates deeply with listeners — a reflection of his mission to soothe hearts through sound.

Kazy began his musical journey at a young age, writing and composing songs for local DJs. Over time, his passion evolved into a signature sound that celebrates love, life, and self-expression.

With all his efforts so far Kazy is appealing for support especially from his home people of Zamdela and Free State as a whole. “Like any other industry, music has its own challenges. As rising artists are struggling in terms of bookings for performances in music or any other event, as we are unknown or not yet popular as they usually say” said Kazy.

Kazy is also appealing for support by voting for his nominations in both the South African Youth Awards and the Artist Scout SA. Kazy said his artistry draws inspiration from South African greats like Blaq Diamond, Amanda Black, and Afro’traction, artists known for their emotional depth and Afro-soul authenticity.

In addition to his growing music career, Kazy has also made television appearances as a background artist on SABC1’s sitcom Single Guys and e.tv’s former hit soap opera Rhythm City. His first national TV performance came in 2012 on e.tv’s morning show Sunrise, marking an early milestone in his entertainment career.

With “Language of Love,” Kazy continues to affirm his place as one of South Africa’s most promising Afro-pop voices blending rhythm, emotion, and authenticity into an unforgettable musical experience.

“ I would also like to thank my friend Itumeleng Matla, who has stood by me throughout the years since our high school period at Cedar Secondary School in Zamdela” added Kazy.
