The search for Ntokozo Miya of Namahadi Frankfort, ended in pain and sorrow for his family, friends and the community. The South African Police Service in the Fezile Dabi District can confirm that an inquest has been opened following the discovery of a body near the riverbank at Tweefontein Farm in the Mafube policing precinct.

On Wednesday, 27 August 2025 at approximately 15:40, Mafube SAPS received a report of a body seen in the water by a local shepherd.
The shepherd was attending to cattle when he noticed a human body submerged near the riverbank and immediately raised the alarm. Police responded to the scene where they found a male body partially submerged in the water. The diving unit from Welkom was deployed to retrieve the body safely.
The deceased was later identified by family members as Ntokozo Mfundo Miya (21), an African male who had previously been reported missing. He was last seen by his mother on Monday 30 June 2025 at their residence in Namahadi, Frankfort. A post-mortem will determine the exact cause of death.
