In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Executive Mayor, accompanied by MMC Special Programs Cllr Angelina Mofokeng and the staff in the Mayor’s office, rolled up their sleeves to commemorate Nelson Mandela Day this morning, 18 July 2025. The team visited the Careswell Children’s Project, where they participated in a cleaning campaign to give the facility a fresh start.

As they worked alongside the foster guardians and children, the Executive Mayor expressed words of encouragement, acknowledging the vital role the guardians play in caring for the young ones.
“This meaningful initiative not only honoured Mandela’s legacy but also highlighted the importance of community service and social responsibility.
