The late African National Congress’s Fezile Dabi Regional Secretary and the former Speaker of Metsimaholo Local Municipality Thabo Mabasa will be laid to rest on Sunday.
Mabasa died last week Tuesday after short illness.
His funeral service will be held at Nkgopoleng Secondary School in Zamdela, Sasolburg, starting from 8am.
ANC Provincial Secretary Polediso Motsoeneng described Mabasa as a true social activist, a revolutionary, and a fountain of political consciousness.
Current Speaker of Metsimaholo Local Municipality, Lucas Fisher, described the death of Mabasa as a great loss to the Metsimaholo locality, Fezile Dabi region and the entire Free State province.
“Mabasa was one of the most courageous and fearless councillors in our municipality since his youthful days,” said Fisher.
