Zamdela music group drops ‘Amapiano’ style single

After dropping their 1st single last month, the Zamdela youth music group ‘Msolombians’ are upbeat about the outcome from the work they have put in producing this single song in ‘Amapiano’ style called ‘Dlala-Phala’.

Amapiano is a genre of house music in the country. The single ‘Dlala-Phala’ was released last month and is currently played in many local and national radio stations.

In the midst of the covid-19 pandemic and high youth unemployment rate, the group aims to make youth of Zamdela and Free State smile and dance this youth month.

The group said they decided to introduce and localize this popular ‘Amapiano’ style of music, after realizing that most artists produce and perform this type of music for their own people in various places.

“Amapiano is a life style in music and we decided to do this style for our own people here in the Free State, we wanted to bring this closer to home, performed and produced by us for our own people.  We are also proud that we have produced this single in Sesotho” said group member Deco.

The group that consists of three members Deco, So-Called, Freshe was formed a year ago and says the respond has been very good to their first single and would like to thanks everyone who supports them.

The ‘Msolombians’ are currently working on a follow up single called ‘Hadi-Dume’ that will be released later this youth month and are promising more fire. The group says it has not been easy producing the single as the Covid 19 pandemic has affected the work of many people including local artist.

“As artist we survive by organizing and performing in events, since they have been cancelled it has been difficult as we don’t receive any kind of support or assistance as local artists” said Deco.

The group has appealed to everyone to keep safe, follow guidelines and regulations provided during this difficult period of Covid 19.
