South African Police Service (SAPS) in Bothaville warmed the hearts of the elderly and people living with disabilities on Tuesday this week when the Women’s Network with support from other Police Stations like Meloding, Virginia and Welkom paid their respective places a visit to celebrate Women’s month with them.
The celebration at this special places were on a high note and memorable moments for the elderly, people living with disabilities and the police women.
The day started at Bothaville Conference hall, where the Station Commander of Bothaville SAPS, Colonel Mankatsa Magage welcomed all guests and members.
Message of support was delivered by Colonel Beulah Siyaya, the Visible Policing Commander of Welkom SAPS.
After a formal briefing, members visited Bethel Old Age Home where Sergeant Jemina Mojaki explained a reason for a visit. She handed over donations contributed by Women’s Network to a Mrs Nkili who is the owner. Members donated soup, bread, oranges, and toiletries to the elderly people.
Subsequently members proceeded to Mpho E Ntle Disability Centre in Kgotsong where Rethabile Mototo from Bothaville Detective Services explained the purpose of the visit and further addressed people living with disabilities about their importance in society and that they are loved.
Donations were as follows, toiletries, soup, oranges, bread were then handed over to Ouma Motsumi, the owner of the Centre.
In conclusion, Lt Col. Priscilla Britz, Detective Commander thanked all attendees who made the day possible
