Free State MEC of Education Dr Mamiki Maboya has officially renamed the Arbeidsgenot Primary School in Bloemfontein, to Dr Tate Makgoe Primary School.
According to Maboya, this renaming pays heartfelt tribute to the late Dr. Tate Makgoe, former MEC for Education in the Free State. Makgoe died on the 5th of March 2023 following a car accident on the N1 highway near Winburg.
The official renaming and opening event was joined by the Executive Mayor of Mangaung Metro, Cllr. Gregory Nthatisi, Speaker of Mangaung Metro, Dr. Mathae, principals, teachers, learners, parents, community leaders and Dr. Makgoe’s family including his son, Junior Makgoe.
