Brigadier Motantsi Makhele bows out

The South African Police Service in the Free State bids farewell to one of its most respected and seasoned communicators, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, who has retired after 36 years’ of loyal service.

Brigadier Makhele, who hails from Dewetsdorp, dedicated his life to serving his province with pride and distinction. Over the years, he became a pillar of strength within the organisation, guiding Provincial Commissioners through both challenging and celebratory times with his steady hand, discipline, and strong leadership.

As the Provincial Head of Corporate Communication, Brigadier Makhele became the voice of the Free State police, ensuring that communities were always informed, reassured, and kept close to the work of the SAPS. His eloquence and professionalism earned him wide respect, not only among his colleagues but also among the media fraternity and the public at large.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Free State, together with the entire SAPS family, extended heartfelt gratitude to Brigadier Makhele for his unwavering dedication and selfless contribution over nearly four decades. His departure leaves a void, but his legacy of commitment, discipline, and compassion will remain.
