Sasol employees in Sasolburg came together on 16 July 2026 out of a shared commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others as part of the company’s Mandela Month activities under the theme 67 Minutes. One Purpose. Limitless Impact.
According to Ntokozo Gcabashe, Senior Vice President of Sasol’s Sasolburg and Natref Operations, Mandela Month reminds us that the true legacy of Nelson Mandela lies in service, compassion, and collective action. “It reminds us that each of us has the power to create positive change, no matter how small the contribution may seem. When these contributions are combined, their impact becomes extraordinary,” she said.
Through the Sasol for Good programme, employees participated in packing 700 care packs that will benefit children in the Fezi Ngubentombi District Hospital, Mafube District Hospital, Dr Che Guevara Clinic and Parys Hospital. The bags contain a colouring book, colouring pencils, soft toy, blanket, fluffy socks, low sugar treats and personal hygiene items such as soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste and petroleum jelly.
“While these packs contain practical items, they represent something far greater. They are a symbol of care, dignity, hope, and solidarity with members of our community who are going through difficult circumstances” Gcabashe said.
Celebrating Mandela Day in Sasolburg forms part of Sasol’s Mandela Month global efforts, including its retail network in South Africa; to continue to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela by extending the company’s reach and strengthening its commitment to those who need support the most in the communities where Sasol employees live and work.
As part of the activities on the day, Sasol made donations to local NPOs who dedicate their services to assist people in need in the community.
