METSIMAHOLO MAYOR HANDS OUT MASKS TO THE ELDERLY

“Let us not forget to wear our masks when we leave our homes.”

A call made by the Executive Mayor of Metsimaholo Local Municipality, Cllr Lindiwe Tshongwe, to all residents of Metsimaholo as she handed out masks to the elderly on Monday morning. Metsimaholo with its headquarters in Sasolburg in the Northern Free State is made up of three towns – namely Sasolburg, Deneysville and Oranjeville.

Tshongwe handed out masks during her visit to the screening and testing site for Covid-19 at Bekezela Primary School in the section of Amelia in Sasolburg. The masks were donated by SASOL.

As she handed out the masks, Tshongwe raised concerns over a lot of unnecessary movements on the streets, including those of children, and pleaded with parents to ask their kids to refrain from loitering and playing on the streets.

“They must stay at home. The Coronavirus kills,” warned Tshongwe.
