Log leaders play to a draw as English Premier League resumes

Log leaders Liverpool played to a 0 – 0 draw against Everton on Sunday following the resumption of matches in the English Premier League.

Matches in this league resumed last week Wednesday, 17 June 2020, when Manchester City beat Arsenal 3 – 0 while Aston Villa played to a 0 – 0 against Sheffield United. 

Like many other soccer league across the globe, English Premier League was forced to stop temporarily due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

On Sunday, Everton became just the third side to take points off Liverpool this season as they earned a goalless draw in the Merseyside derby.

With Liverpool dropping points for a second successive away match, the earliest they can win the title is on Wednesday, if Manchester City lose to Burnley on Monday night.

Liverpool are on 83 points, 23 above City, who have nine matches left. Everton are 12th with 38 points. 

The Log leaders face Crystal Palace on Wednesday at Anfield.

In another big win on Sunday, Newcastle trounced Sheffield United 3 – 0 at St. James Park. Goals were scored by Alla Saint-Maxim (55), Matt Ritche (69) and Joelinton (78)
