The Origins is a documentary looking into the inception of Projects Riots in 2021, that was filmed was under difficult era of Covid-19. Without any resources back then the producers Lebogang oa Machedi and Mase had to really on a Samsung A10 Galaxy phone to film the Projects Riots in 2021.

“During Covid-19 period I had to come-back home to Zamdela Sasolburg, and on the 10th February we started shooting the Riots Project with my partner Mase. We had nothing by then only a Samsung A10 Galaxy phone that we used to shoot short films” said Lebogang wa Machedi. The motivation for Machedi was to explore and unearth the raw talent that they saw in the young people who took part in the shooting. “The talent from the young people was amazing and it’s a that talent that we must showcased to the world, our young people don’t have to go to big cities like Johannesburg to showcase their talent we must bring those resources closer them and instead of taking young people to the workshops, I believe in taking them through an incubation process” said Machedi.

“On the 1st December 2023 we will basically be showcasing our work that we have been doing since 2021. A collection of audio-visuals material will take you back in time, with in-depth interviews from the creator Lebogang wa Machedi and Mase who is the executive producer, about the reality of setting up a ‘dream-chaser platform’ when South Africa and the rest of the world were facing a Covid-19 pandemic” added Machedi.
