“Rest in peace, Comrade Terror, We will forever appreciate how your courage and conviction inspired our generation of activists to occupy spaces of leadership and continue the struggle for a just and equal South Africa” said Former Free State Premier Me. Sefora Ntombela bidding farewell to the late Terror Lekota.
Ntombela said it was good to see so many comrades with whom they spent many years in activism and within the structures of the African National Congress.

“As we grow older, we begin to appreciate the simple moments that bring smiles to people’s lives and remind us of the journey we have walked together” added Ntombela.
“Even though we could not always reach everyone or make every person happy, during the time we were entrusted with leadership responsibilities in government and in the ANC, we tried our best to serve our people.
That is what Comrade Terror’s funeral reminded me of: that for as long as God grants us the privilege of life, we must always try our utmost to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others, especially the most vulnerable among us”.
“It was also heartening to see many leaders and comrades come together to pay their last respects, including former President Thabo Mbeki, former President Kgalema Motlanthe, Deputy President Paul Mashatile, Trevor Manuel, Fikile Mbalula, Ace Magashule, Sibongile Besani, Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae, Mxolisi Dukwana, Panyaza Lesufi, and many other ANC comrades and government officials who came to honour his life.

Positions are temporary and will pass, but making a positive impact in the lives of people is something deeply fulfilling and lasting” concludes Ntombela.
