Fezile Dabi District Hospitals in Mafube, Tokollo in Heilbron and Fezi Ngubentombi in Sasolburg, were visiting on Christmas Day by Acting Executive Mayor of Fezile Dabi District Municipality, MMC Cllr Stone Makhema, together with other Municipal Councilors to welcome newborn babies and celebrate the gift of life.
The Acting Executive Mayor presented baby hampers containing baby essentials to the new mothers, offering much-needed support as they begin their parenting journey.
The visit commenced at Mafube District Hospital in Frankfort, where the municipality said 5 babies were safely delivered. In Tokollo District Hospital in Heilbron, 8 babies were born, 2 of which was a set of twin girls. At Fezi Ngubentombi District Hospital in Sasolburg, 3 babies had been delivered by the time of the visit.
According to the district municipality no babies were born at Boitumelo Regional Hospital in Kroonstad on Christmas Day.
In his engagement with hospital management and healthcare workers, Acting Mayor Makhema expressed gratitude to health professionals who selflessly reported for duty on Christmas Day to serve the community and ensure quality maternal healthcare services. “Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
