Appointment letters for the newly appointed Free State principals

Newly appointed Principals across the Free State Province received their appointment letters this week at the Welkom Volkskool, from the Department of Education in the province. District Management Teams, Circuit managers, School Governing Body members and Organised Labour members from all five districts came to witness and offer their support.

The department said this august occasion was held to recognize and celebrate the officials who have taken the call of duty as leaders. A critical role that calls upon these officials to develop themselves, firstly and then develop others. The role of managing human resources, ensuring that schools are managed as organizations.

NAPTOSA and SADTU representatives ascended the stage to give messages of support to the newly appointed principals at the gathering and reminded them that they have accepted this challenge and responsibility boldly and to be the best leaders they can be, serving with integrity and humility.

The Acting DDG for Corporate Services, Bob Tladi on behalf of the Head of Department, Adv. Tsoarelo Malakoane, adressed the audience and only wished the best for them, wisdom and prosperity for the future, while navigating this uncharted territory. “Today is not only about handing over appointment letters but this ceremony serves a deeper purpose. While teachers teach, principals create a conducive environment for teaching and learning to take place. The trajectory of a learner is determined by decisions that are taken by a school principal. The reason for today is to sustain a culture in an organisation, investing in human resources that will assist in upholding performance, excellence and accountability.”
