Following the construtive engagement between the African Farmers Association of South Africa (AFASA), the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development and all stakeholders, the Advertisement for the Disposal of the Zandfontein Farm in Viljoenskroon, has been withdrawn.
AFASA’s Head of Land Reform Committee Mr Piet Mothepu, said his Association welcomes the decision by the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development. Mothepu added that AFASA is committed in working with government and other stakeholders in finding lasting solution to land-related matters, in the interest of farmers and communities.
The Farmers Association had previously warned that it will consider legal action to stop the Advertisement and proposed disposal of the farm, if appropriate interventions were not done.
