When Cheznado join the school choir at Sediba sa Thuto in Phiritona Heilbron, little did he know that will be the beginning of his musical career. Motaung Papi professionally known as Cheznado is an award-winning artist from Phiritona, Heilbron, in the Free State province.
The beat never stopped for Cheznado and in 2023 he recorded his first professional single “Re Shota Ka Wena” with his former group B.L.C Musiq. The song got recognition abroad on KHXS radio from Houston, Texas and played on Lesedi FM kasi finest and also on radio stations such Mozolo, VUT and Karabo FM.
Cheznado’s music is a fusion of educated Sghubu and Amapiano, enriched by his unique style of singing. His latest hit song ‘Jwala Bona’ featuring ‘Kb wa Bana’was an award-winning song in 2023 for the best dance, at the South African Upcoming Music Awards (SAUMA).
He was nominated in three Categories in the South African Upcoming Music Awards (Sauma Awards 2023) that is Best Dance Song, Best Amapiano Song and Best Kwaito Song. The award-winning song is available in all digital stores, currently on Live100 Wurn Radio (Chicago), Mantsopa FM, Theta FM, Sedibeng FM and Dihlabeng FM.
Cheznado is also a 10 times South African Awards runners up in 2016, 2018 and 2020 at the South African Upcoming Music Award, Fezile Dabi Music Awards, Mzansi Kwaito, House Music Awards, MAMA Awards as well as at the Pheli Award.
