On Wednesday, 14 October 2026, the South African Police Service in Sasolburg collaborated with Correctional Services members to host the Community in Blue initiative.
The campaign was a five-kilometer (5km) walk from Sasolburg Correctional Services Centre, to the Central Business District (CBD) area and back to Correctional Services using a different route.
The main purpose of the walk was to raise awareness against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Femicide, and served as a way of uniting people and spreading the message to stop brutality against women and children.
