TWEELING SAPS REQUEST ASSISTANCE IN MURDER INVESTIGATION OF 16 YEAR OLD GIRL

Detectives in Tweeling are appealing to members of the public to assist with information that may lead to the identification and arrest of suspect(s) involved in the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Mafahlaneng, Tweeling.

On Sunday, 05 April 2026, police were alerted to the discovery of a body in a field near the Tweeling Goat Project in Mafahlaneng. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the body of a young female lying face down. The victim was partially clothed and had sustained visible injuries to the upper body.

Preliminary investigations at the scene led to the recovery of several items, including clothing and footwear, both in the surrounding area and inside a nearby abandoned building. These items are believed to be linked to the incident and form part of the ongoing investigation. A case of murder is currently under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this stage. The deceased has since been positively identified by her family. The suspect(s) remain unknown.
