A lack of finances is standing between an aspiring author from Refengkgotso in Deneysville and his dream of becoming a published author.
Mlanduli ‘’Mangethe’ Zwane, who is also a motivational speaker, says he has so far written many books and his only wish is to see at least one of those books published.
“My main challenge to get my work published is financial resources, i have tried over the years to find some sort of assistance, but nothing positive has come my way” said Mangethe.
Even though his work is piling up and gathering dust, Mangethe says he just can’t stop writing because of that spark and love for writing.

“I love writing, it is part of my life. Every spare time I have I write something, it can be a poem, a short-story or motivational pieces. I get emotional sometimes to see these piles of work and not being able to publish at least one book” said Mangethe.
Mangethe recalls that his writing especially in Sesotho and how he performed during school debates and dialogue discussions was noticed by some of his teachers from primary school level. He has been asked to submit two book manuscripts ‘Toro Letlotlo la Bophelo’ and ‘Poetry in Memories’, and he hopes this might be the breakthrough he’s been waiting for.
Presently Mangethe is doing motivational talks with Sedibeng Fm in Vaal, and worked previously with radio stations such as Lekoa Fm, former Refengkgotso Hd Fm, and Karabo Fm.
“To be a writer needs dedication and determination, it is an easier way to release your emotions and talk through pen and paper. My main aim going forward is to centre where i can gather children who are interested in writing books, poetry, etc, and guide them through” added Mangethe.
‘When an Author Becomes a Reader the Story Changes’ concludes Mangethe.
