University of Free State Menโs Football Team claimed a 1-0 victory over Wits in the Varsity Football on the 11th September 2025. Guided by their new coach, Mokete Tsotetsi, the Kovsies have secured the semifinal spot in the competition.

Luke Mosala, a University of Free State student who has been selected to be part of the SA u21 Menโs Junior Hockey World Cup Squad.
*Casey – Jean Terblance , A Free State Hockey Ladies Team Player who also got selected for the SA Womenโs Squad for 2025/2026

Kirtley Buffel from the Free State who is part of the South Africa Handball Team that is set to represent the country at the 1st Menโs Beach Handball Senior Commonwealth Championships in the Maldives.

Karla Victor, a Central University of Technology Women’s Netball player has been selected as a Spar Baby Protea. She will be representing South Africa for the upcoming 2025 Netball World Youth Cup which take place in Gibraltar from 19-28 September 2025.
