Free State Premier Mxolisi Dukwana has received and welcomed resignation from the Free State Executive Council by the MEC for Social Development Motshedise Koloi.
According to the Dukwana spokesperson, Sello Dithebe, the MEC’s resignation follows her indictment along with two other accused, in relation to an alleged misuse of R150 000.00, while she was the Executive Mayor of Moqhaka in 2017.
Dithebe said Dukwana has appointed the MEC for Small Business and Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Thabo Meeko, to act as the MEC for Social Development in the interim.
“Premier Dukwana wishes to thank former MEC Koloi for her service to government and the people of the Free State and further wishes to state that, the Free State government will continue to collaborate with our criminal justice system, to turn the tide against malfeasance and corruption, whenever it occurs, wherever it occurs; by whosoever it is committed,” said Dithebe.
