The 8th annual Free State Fashion Week (FSFW) held in Bloemfontein was spectacular show. This show was a celebration of South Africa’s rich fashion heritage and setting the stage for the future of design.
This year’s event featured 50 local designers, including 18 promising Free State Fashion Hub students, all of whom left a lasting impression on the audience.
Nationally recognized designers Enhle Mbali from Essie Apparel, Thabo Makhetha, and Nhlanhla Mafu from NN Vintage each showcased their latest collections. At the same time, the grand finale by Olebogeng Ledimo of House of Ole brought the audience to their feet.
With a record-breaking 150 models bringing designer visions to life and 50 exhibitors presenting the latest in fashion and beauty, FSFW brought together the best in style, creativity, and talent.
Metro FM’s popular hosts Somizi, LKG, Mpumi Mlambo, and DJ Sabby kept the energy high. At the same time, DJ Shaxe, Thiwe, and Somandla’s performances electrified the crowd and made it a memorable day.
“But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Free State Fashion Hub, the training arm of FSFW, is now accepting applications for its 2025 intake, inviting the next wave of fashion talent to step forward,” said National Public Relations Director, Sonia Motaung.
She explained that the Free State Fashion Hub, accredited by QCTO and FP&M Seta, offers comprehensive training to aspiring designers, providing them with the skills to excel in the fashion industry.
Applications are open until February 2025, so if you’re passionate about fashion and looking to kick-start your career, now is the time to register.
