In John 4:22-24 Jesus talks about true worship and says it must be done in spirit and in truth.Â
During this time of Easter we are reminded of the love, commitment and obedience that Jesus worshipped the Heavenly Father with.
He served in misery and beyond the cross. He served God in spirit and in truth as he was being led by the Holy Spirit and also with a sincere heart.
In spirit means in agreement with the Holy Spirit and as moved, guided and led by the Holy Spirit.
In truth means sincerely.
And this is indeed the right manner of worshipping God. Our motives must be right when we render any service to God and in His name.
May we come back to the heart of worship and worship God in spirit and in truth.
