Ngwathe Local Municipality had an opportunity to receive presentations on prospective private investment around the R59 road, inclusive of the golf estate and airfield in Parys on Friday, the 28th June 2024.
The presentation was made by Dr Eric Molefe, who led a team of architects and experts from Pro-Plan Consulting Engineers, to bring this Mega Development to Ngwathe.
According to the Acting Municipal Manager, Dr Futhuli Mothamaha, who is leading the administrative delegation, this prospective investment is around the Medical School which is a catalyst project supported by other projects such as the Development of Hospital with capacity of 400 beds, the Truck Inn inclusive of accomodation and Resturants, the Development of a Hotel and Filling Station, including five star hotel, residential space, private primary and secondary schools respectively.
The Executive Mayor Cllr Victoria De Beer-Mthombeni, flanked by MMCs hailed these prospective investments as part of her legacy, having huge potential aimed at creating job opportunities, stimulating local economic and contributing to the rebranding and positioning of Ngwathe.
In summarizing the developments, Acting Municipal Manager, who is also a local economic development expert, emphasized that his team will continue with these engagements to ensure successful realization or economic vibrancy in the municipality.
Participants included Fezile Dabi District Municipality LED, Department of Minerals and Energy, Office of the Premier Planning Unit, Presidential Advisory Unit and Provincial Department of Community Safety and Transport, amongst others.
