Ngwathe Local Municipality’s Executive Mayor Victoria De Beer-Mthombeni has visited the ongoing water supply project in Mokwallo, Vredefort, to monitor progress as part of service delivery check.
The municipality said residents in the area are happy that, finally, water is running from their taps in the Mapetla section.
The Executive Mayor was accompanied by MMC for Public Safety and Disaster Noma Moloi, Ward 4 Mokwallo Councillor Thabo Sothoane, Municipal Manager Dr F.P Mothamaha, Director Technical Services Patricia Morokolo and the administrative team.
“Residents of Mapetla section in Mokwallo narrated stories regarding lack of water in the area for at least more than 10 years, while appreciating efforts of the current administration,” said the municipality in the press release.
During the State of The Municipality Address, the Executive Mayor emphasized that water supply remains one of the key priorities.
