The National Khoisan Kingdom “Apprising The” Abbaquar-SAN Royal House, under the leadership of His Royal Majesty King Thomas Edgar Brown I, extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the families, schools, and communities affected by the tragic scholar transport accident that occurred on Monday, 19 January 2026, along the R553 in Vanderbijlpark.
The Kingdom through its Spokesperson Chieftess Mathapelo Chila said this catastrophic incident, which claimed the lives of fourteen young learners, has left the nation mourning, shaken by the magnitude of loss and the pain carried by families whose loved ones were taken far too soon. “The Kingdom joins all South Africans in prayer and remembrance for the children whose futures were filled with promise, joy, and hope” said Chieftess Mathapelo Chila.
“As a nation, we must come together in solidarity— to comfort those who mourn, to strengthen the hands of those who respond, and to uplift the hearts of our communities as we collectively seek healing”. The Kingdom said preparations are underway for the visit in Vaal on the 07th February 2026, to offer support and condolences to the families and the people of the Vaal area.
The Kingdom honours the dedication of emergency services, educators, community leaders, and faith-based organisations who continue to provide support and compassion in this time of grief.
