Kaizer Chiefs redeems itself

Following a disastrous game against Wydad Casablanca in a Group C match of the Caf Champions League a week ago, Kaizer Chiefs bounced back on Saturday with a 2 – 0 win against Petro de Luanda.

The game was played at Soccer City and the two goals came from Eric Mathoho and Happy Mashiane.

This game came after Kaizer Chiefs suffered a defeat a week ago as they went down 4-0 to Wydad Casablanca at the Stade du 4 Aout in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

The match against Wydad Casablanca was originally scheduled in Casablanca but was moved to a neutral venue due to Covid-19 concerns in Morocco.

Kaizer Chiefs are now third in the Group C standings with 4 points after 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their top spot in the Group A of the CAF Champions League following their 2 – 1 win against TP Mazembe on the same Saturday.

Sundowns are on top of the log standings with 9 points after 3 wins
