I Have Always Wanted To Inspire an African Child

By Lekhotla Mokoena

I was born to be a catalyst of change. Inspiring others, and being the one to say ‘’It’s possible, it can be done “has always been what I wanted to do”, says John Maine, also known as ‘Pusher’.

Early in his life Pusher Maine who hails from Zamdela Sasolburg, knew that he wanted to be the person he is today. To travel all over the country to inspire an African Child saying it is possible and doable.

Today Pusher Maine is a Motivational Speaker, Author, Entrepreneur and a Personal Development Coach offering services to individuals and groups. “I discovered my life purpose early on while growing up, I knew I had to be the hope to the hopeless and to make a difference in people’s lives.” says Pusher Maine.

Along his journey Pusher Maine has been on CNBC Africa Business Channel representing Free State province, he is an author of a book titled ‘Beyond My thoughts’, and has been on various platforms including Lesedi Fm doing motivational talks.

With many socio-economic challenges facing young people in this country Pusher Maine says, “Never surround yourself with people who are tired of dreaming. God will incubate your greatness through your frustration”.

Pusher Maine says in further motivating young people he will use a Japanese concept known as ‘IKIGAI’ meaning a reason for being. This means Asking yourself the following questions:

-What you love doing?

-What are you good at?

-What the world needs?

-What can you be paid for?

Pusher Maine looks up to role models such as Vusi Thembekwayo and Dr David Molapo and would like to see himself speaking internationally and having John Maine Academy that will be developing thoughtful leaders and entrepreneurs.
