In acknowledgment of the role tourism sector is playing in rural and township tourism, the Free State MEC for Finance, Economic Development, and Tourism–Ketso Makume, together with the Executive Mayor Metsimaholo Local Municipality, Cllr Jack Malindi launched the Tourism Service Excellence Small Town where the Ambassadors attended 12 months fundamental program toward the tourism service excellence.
This program is aimed at creating a service oriented culture to ensure that tourism destinations provide visitors with world-class experience.
It is a program intended to unearth innovative ideas and not allow the Free State to be a filling station area because the Free State had the potential to be a tourism hub to create jobs & grow the economy.
“All tourism role players should come on board to push the agenda of revitalizing the tourism sector in the province,” said MEC.
MEC Makume calls on domestic and international travelers/tourists to create new memories with their loved ones by exploring the Free State as their preferred destination of choice. Free State is a go-to and not a go through province.
