Free State Fashion Week returns with a bang

Come Saturday! The city known by other name as City of Roses will be abuzz with glitz and glamour. This elegant beauty will be on display at Bloemfontein City Hall as the 8th annual Free State Fashion Week (FSFW) returns.

This spectacular full-day event feature 30 aspiring local and four seasoned designers, celebrity hosts, live music, food, and exhibitions. FSFW is South Africa’s premier fashion and lifestyle experience.

With Metro FM as the media partner, Somizi, LKG, Lamiez, and DJ Sabby will electrify the event with red-carpet flair and musical performances, making FSFW 2024 an unforgettable experience this side of Mzansi.

FSFW 2024 offers three exhilarating shows in one day, starting at 10:00 am this Saturday, 9th November 2024, and running until midnight. Each session presents a unique line-up of talent, with the morning session featuring students and kiddies, the afternoon for emerging designers, and the evening dedicated to established designers. Plus, the venue will host exhibitions, food stalls, and a vibrant buyers’ lounge, creating an all-encompassing
experience for attendees.

Talking to the Fashion Show Director, Candy Smith, following the show’s consistency and success, she noted, “We have been privileged to have such great talent in our province. Equally, the support we have received from both public and corporates alike has been highly appreciated. We are intentional in hosting this programme as it seeks to empower young and aspiring designers and affords them the platform to be seen across the continent and, in time, the world.”

This year’s line-up includes four iconic designers:

Thabo Makhetha

Thabo Makhetha: Known for her Kobo ea bohali collection. Thabo’s work embodies the heritage of Basotho culture, with her luxury designs gaining international acclaim, including features in Vogue Italia.

Nhlanhla Mafu

Nhlanhla Mafu: As the creative mind behind NN Vintage, Nhlanhla blends bold fashion, storytelling and has been inspiring generations across Africa for over 17 years.

Enhle Mbali
