Bottles and bottles of liquor go down the drain

A total of 3,284,728 millilitres of liquor destroyed in an operation led by Acting District Commissioner of Sedibeng, Brigadier Manamela

A liquor destruction operation is being led by the Acting District Commissioner of Sedibeng, Brigadier Mashole Manamela, during #OperationShanela.

Police stations that form part of the operation include De Deur, Evaton, Orange Farms, Sebokeng, Sharpeville, Vanderbijlpark and Vereeniging.

Liquor abuse remains one of the contributing factors to crimes such as gender-based violence and domestic violence.

The liquor being destroyed was confiscated during Operation Shanela and liquor compliance inspections, where liquor outlets were found operating without the necessary documentation and licences to sell liquor.
