African National Congress in the Fezile Dabi Region has called on all its disciplined members to remain focused and not be distracted by any agent provocateurs. The party was responding to incidents in the region were ANC T-Shirts were burned. “The ANC in Fezile Dabi Region has noted an incident by a group of people who were burning ANC T-shirts. This is reportedly in protest of the constitutional decision of the ANC to expel its former Secretary General, Mr Ace Magashule.” The party said in a statement.
Former ANC Councillor in Metsimaholo Alexis Mare who was part of the group that burned ANC T-Shirts on youth day in Amelia, Zamdela said he was also pained by how his party has changed since 1994. “ANC is no longer the same now, since Ramaphosa took over the party has changed he removed those he feared will contest him like comrade Ace Magashule, dollars where found in his house but they are fighting Magashule for the good work he was doing of educating our children overseas” said Mare.
Meanwhile Player Kopano Mokoena said justice must be done, on this day of the youth. “We have taken a decision here as that as youth that we are moving away from the ANC, because it is no longer the party we know that the likes of Oliver Tambo fought for, it took a u-turn and no longer serves the interest of the society” said Mokoena. “All MECs were part of Ace’s administration therefore there is no way we can say Magashule was corrupt, on the issue of the matriculates who studied abroad people who brought the names of those learners were councillors, ward committees etc , but today they are shifting the blame to Magashule”
However ANC in the region said it is fully aware of the intentions of this group, which is to create confusion amongst our people. “We are confident that loyal and disciplined members of the ANC understand and accept the democratic and constitutional outcomes of the National Disciplinary Committee. Whilst we are convinced that majority of those involved are not ANC members, we are however, aware of few members of the organization who took active part in this incident and the necessary internal Disciplinary processes of the organization will ensue with immediate effect”.
“We call on all disciplined members of the ANC to remain focused and not be distracted by any agent provocateurs, our task is to ensure that we continue to serve our people. In conclusion, we would like to take this opportunity to remind members of the ANC of the oath that they have taken, which proclaims that they have joined the organization voluntarily and committed to serve as loyal members of the organization, carry out tasks given to them and defend the unity and the integrity of the organisation and its principles” said the party in the region.
