Zamdela detectives are appealing to members of the public to assist with information that may lead to the arrest of suspect(s) involved in a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 29 March 2026, in Amelia section.
On Sunday, at about 02:50, Zamdela CSC members responded to a complaint of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a white Toyota Corolla that had collided with a tree and a gate. Inside the vehicle, an adult male, later identified as Mr. Samuel Mohlabane was found seated and motionless.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body. Emergency medical personnel declared the victim deceased at the scene. It is reported that multiple gunshots were heard in the vicinity prior to the discovery of the vehicle. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.
The Zamdela detectives urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist in identifying or locating the suspect(s) to come forward.
