Mathapelo Chila, the Democratic Alliance (DA) Ward 3 councillor candidate in Refengkgotso, Metsimaholo Local Municipality, is seeking to bridge her community youth empowerment work with public service as political campaigns intensify ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Chila recently engaged with senior citizens at the Tswelopele Luncheon in Refengkgotso, Deneysville, as she continues to connect with residents across the ward.
Through her various community roles, Chila said she hopes to bring her experience in youth development and cultural advocacy into local government and contribute to the empowerment of communities. Besides being a councillor candidates, Chila is the founder of Royal Crown Beauty NPC, a youth focused Non-profit organization, dedicated in empowering young women through beauty, health and leadership development, mentoring and providing skills training that will allow young women in Metsimaholo to grow, lead and inspire change in their communities.
Chila said she champions for improved service delivery, youth employment opportunities, community safety, skills development programs, and strives to build a future were young people are empowered, communities supported and services delivered with dignity and integrity.
