As Free State MEC for Community Safety, Roads and Transport Jabu Mbalula sends a Festive-Season-Road Safety Message for the holiday season, the Provincial Traffic Officers has removed an unroadworthy vehicle from the Kroonstad→Welkom (R730) route for the safety of all road users.
The vehicle was found to have:
– No valid licence disc;
– Rear lights not functioning;
– A worn tyre; and
– A cracked windscreen.
The Department has reminded vehicle owners to:
*Ensure licence disc is displayed before set off.
*Check that all lights are operational
* Inspect tyre tread and pressure regularly
*Do not ignore a cracked windscreen
