Villiers police have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the alleged murder of his 31-year-old girlfriend in Qalabotjha, Villiers.
On Wednesday, 29 July 2026, at about 11:00, members of the Villiers Police Station responded to a report of a murder at a residence in Qalabotjha. Upon arrival, police discovered the body of a woman, identified as Rejoice Motloung (31), lying on the floor with a stab wound to her upper body.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased and the suspect had allegedly been involved in an argument over the weekend.
Acting swiftly on information gathered during the investigation, police traced the suspect to his residence, where they established that he had traveled to Standerton. On Thursday, 30 July 2026, at about 08:00, Villiers detectives proceeded to a farm in Standerton, where the 41-year-old suspect was located and arrested.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Villiers Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder. Police investigations are continuing.
